Wendy Proud has more than 30 years of experience in horticultural maintenance, gardener training, and the long-term care of living landscapes. She came to HAPS with a deep body of knowledge, strong convictions about the industry, and a perspective that deserved a larger audience. Our work together has grown across public relations, thought leadership, messaging, website strategy, marketing, editorial development, and industry outreach, all while protecting the voice and values that make Wendy’s work distinctly her own.
Wendy’s expertise does not fit neatly into a conventional marketing message. Her work sits at the intersection of horticulture, landscape maintenance, gardener education, design intent, plant performance, and human relationships. Much of its value comes from ideas that have developed over decades of direct experience. The challenge was not creating something for Wendy to say. It was helping organize what she already knew, identify the ideas with the greatest potential, and communicate them in a way that remained personal, practical, and true to her voice.
We started by listening. Through ongoing conversations with Wendy, HAPS helped identify recurring ideas within her work: the importance of understanding plants rather than simply controlling them, the role gardeners play in carrying design intent forward, the difference between proactive and reactive maintenance, and the connection between people, plants, and place. Those conversations became the foundation for a broader communications strategy. We worked with Wendy to develop thought leadership for publication, refine Kinship League’s website and messaging, shape her positioning ahead of major industry events, develop newsletter and outreach content, and strengthen the way her services and expertise are presented to landscape architects, horticulturists, property teams, and other industry audiences. Rather than imposing a polished agency voice, our role has been to help Wendy sound more clearly like Wendy.
Kinship League now has a clearer platform for sharing Wendy’s expertise across editorial, digital, and in-person channels. HAPS has helped turn years of knowledge and conversation into material that can support articles, speaking opportunities, newsletters, website content, media outreach, and industry events. The work has also created a more consistent language around Kinship League itself, making it easier for people to understand not only what Wendy does, but why her approach matters. Most importantly, the strategy gives Wendy room to keep developing her ideas over time rather than reducing her expertise to a single campaign or message.
We’d love to help share your work with the world—through words, media, and image.
